Stop Payments &
Deposit Holds
Making a painfully slow process (nearly) instantaneous.
Problem:
When I joined the bank, stop payments and deposit holds were still being processed manually with paper forms, which was obviously inefficient for such time-sensitive, urgent requests.
Solution:
Digitize the stop payment and deposit hold workflows within the teller platform to improve speed and customer satisfaction.
My role:
Sole content designer responsible for designing clear, simplified copy and organizing the flow.
Results:
Teller response to the new, digital workflow was overwhelmingly positive. They (and the customers) appreciated not having to file paperwork anymore, which was, of course, much faster than the previous process.
The flow
I've omitted some screens for brevity's sake, but I'm happy to discuss the project further in greater detail.
A customer has entered the bank and wants to place a stop payment on a check they’ve issued.
Other microcopy
Various messaging the user may encounter (not an exhaustive list).
The teller is in the customer's account.
The teller is in the Stop Payments microapp.
The teller has started the stop payment request. Up to this point, the screens for requesting a deposit hold are the same.
