About

Fresh out of college, after dabbling with stand-up comedy, journalism, and watching a lot of Mad Men, I landed a job as a high school English and creative writing teacher for at-risk kids.

But just before starting my third year in the classroom—and realizing that teaching was not‍ ‍my calling—I picked up a part-time copywriting contract with Tupperware. After long days of teaching, I’d trek over to their HQ and work on copy. It was exhausting, but I enjoyed it.

I felt the urge to pursue writing full time in any capacity, so I left teaching and wound up in a bit of an unconventional role as content strategist/copywriter/UX writer with a company that produced "martial arts software." Fascinated with the UX writing aspect of the position, I pursued those kinds of roles instead once I learned that that was its own discipline.

Since then, I’ve grown into a content designer for different apps, websites, and platforms for a strange mix of industries, from dental supply eCommerce to bank teller tools.

When I'm not working, I live in the Chicago suburbs with my husband and our two cats, Bill and Aeternus, where I read, listen to podcasts, play video games, and try to grow a garden.
